Residential Move

Before your move, a moving consultant will visit your home to explain our many services and to answer any questions you may have at that time. The consultant will then proceed to perform a survey of the items that need to be moved and will advise you with regards to any items that cannot be moved - for example, hazardous or flammable items such as certain chemicals or paints - or that will require unique attention - such as a clothes dryer that must be disconnected in advance.

The survey allows the moving consultant to not only advise you as to these details, but also to provide you with different options and prices you may choose for your move.

All-Ways moving provides an optional packing service. Should you choose this service, an experienced team of trained packers will come to your home the day before or the day of the move (depending on the amount of packing required).

To prepare for the loading, the driver will lay down floor runners to protect your floors and carpets. They will be placed in all high traffic areas. Banisters and doorways will also be protected with special padding to avoid any marks or damage throughout the loading process.

Any furniture that could suffer marks, scratches, dents, dirt (etc) will be wrapped in cloth pads or blankets for added protection.

If your shipment is being moved long distance, or if it will be stored in our storage facility, an Inventory and Condition Report of the items moved, will be completed by the driver. You will be required to sign these reports and you may also be asked to sign a bill of lading if it is required. This document acts as a legal contract which says that you are allowing All-Ways moving to transport your shipment and you agree to pay for the services provided. The bill of lading acts to confirm any schedules and to verify delivery information such as addresses, dates and other contact information; it also indicates the protection plan you have selected.

The van forman will collect full payment for your move. We accept bank drafts, money orders, Visa and MasterCard. Sorry, we cannot accept personal cheques. The driver will give you a copy of the bill of lading as your receipt.

To make the unloading process faster, it is wise to have a room setting floor plan in mind or even prepared on paper, to avoid confusion and so that you can inform the driver as to what room you would like your possessions located in your new home.
